AI/ML Engineer (Vapi)

About the Role We are looking for a highly experienced AI / ML Engineer with deep expertise in Neural AI systems, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and custom model development from scratch. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience building intelligent AI systems using modern neural architectures, deploying production-grade LLM applications, and solving complex computational problems through advanced mathematics and machine learning. This role requires strong ownership, research capabilities, and the ability to independently architect and build AI systems end-to-end. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in AI/ML engineering and should be comfortable with occasional visits to our HQ in Nagpur for collaboration and strategic discussions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop neural network-based AI systems
- Build and optimize RAG pipelines using vector databases and embeddings
- Develop and deploy LLM-powered applications, copilots, and AI agents
- Fine-tune and evaluate open-source and proprietary LLMs
- Build custom ML / DL models from scratch
- Architect end-to-end AI pipelines and workflows
- Optimize inference systems for latency, scalability, and accuracy
- Conduct deep technical research and evaluate emerging AI technologies
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into production systems
- Build scalable and maintainable AI infrastructure for real-world applications Required Skills & Expertise
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AI / ML engineering
- Solid expertise in Neural Networks and Deep Learning
- Proven experience with LLMs and Generative AI systems
- Hands-on expertise with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face
- Experience with vector DBs: Pinecone, FAISS, Milvus, Weaviate
- Solid proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn
- Experience in MLOps, model deployment, and cloud infrastructure
