Maintenance Manager - AEROSOL Products (Vapi)

Job Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all equipment used in aerosol manufacturing, including filling lines, crimping machines, propellant handling systems, and packaging units. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and optimizing maintenance processes in an oil and lubricant aerosol production environment. Key Responsibilities1. Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of aerosol filling and packaging lines
- Ensure smooth operation of:
- Aerosol filling machines
- Crimping and valve insertion systems
- Propellant charging systems (LPG/Butane/Propane)
- Leak detection and quality testing equipment
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime 2. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to flammable propellants and pressurized containers
- Enforce adherence to:
- Hazardous area classifications (ATEX or equivalent)
- Fire safety and explosion prevention systems
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
- Ensure proper grounding, bonding, and static control systems 3. Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and contractors
- Provide technical guidance and training
- Plan manpower allocation for shifts and shutdowns 4. Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and reliability improvement initiatives
- Analyze breakdowns using RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
- Track KPIs such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
- Drive improvements in equipment uptime and efficiency 5. Project & Capex Management
- Lead installation and commissioning of new aerosol lines and equipment
- Manage plant modifications and upgrades
- Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for technical support and spare parts 6. Inventory & Cost Control
- Manage spare parts inventory and critical equipment stock
- Control maintenance budget and reduce operational costs
- Ensure availability of critical spares for uninterrupted production 7. Documentation & Systems
- Maintain maintenance records, SOPs, and equipment history
- Implement and manage CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP (if applicable), and internal audit requirements Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
- Experience: 8–15 years in maintenance, preferably in:
- Aerosol industry
- Oil & lubricant manufacturing
- FMCG or chemical process industries Technical Skills
- Knowledge of aerosol technology and pressurized systems
- Experience with PLCs, automation, and control systems
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and explosion-proof systems Soft Skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets Preferred Requirements
- Experience in handling LPG/propellant systems
- Exposure to lean manufacturing / Six Sigma
