Job Title: Engineer – R&D; Department: Research & Development – Electronics & Systems Location: Vapi, Gujarat Reports To: Manager / Senior Manager – R&D; Job Purpose: To design, develop, and validate electronic and electrical systems for medical devices and advanced equipment by working across hardware, embedded systems, and system integration, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Design & Development
• Design and develop electronic and electrical systems/products from concept to validation.
• Work on circuit design, component selection, and system architecture.
• Develop and review schematics, circuit diagrams, and PCB layouts.
• Ensure design optimization for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. 2. Hardware Development & Integration
• Develop and test analog and digital hardware circuits.
• Collaborate on embedded firmware development and system integration.
• Work with microcontrollers, sensors, and control systems.
• Support PCB design and prototype development. 3. Prototyping, Testing & Validation
• Build and validate prototypes for functional and performance testing.
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting of hardware and system-level issues.
• Use testing tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer.
• Conduct verification and validation (V&V;) as per design requirements. 4. Documentation & Design Control
• Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and specifications.
• Maintain records in line with design control and regulatory requirements.
• Support change management and design reviews. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Coordinate with production, quality, and supply chain teams for product transfer.
• Support DFM/DFT activities and production scale-up.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous product improvement. 6. Regulatory & Quality Compliance
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
• Support adherence to ISO 13485 and medical device quality systems (if applicable).
• Participate in internal audits and design validation processes. 7. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Contribute to new product development and innovation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
• Stay updated with latest technologies in electronics and embedded systems. Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Related Field.
• 3–5 years of experience in R&D; of electronic/electrical systems.
• Experience in product development lifecycle (concept to validation) preferred. Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of electronic hardware and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in circuit design, schematics, and PCB development.
• Understanding of microcontrollers, sensors, and control systems.
• Basic programming skills in C/C++ or similar.
• Hands-on experience with testing and debugging tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and system designs.
• Valuable communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
