Psychiatrist, Vellore

The Psychiatrist will assess patients with mental health conditions, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing care through a combination of psychotherapy and pharmacological interventions. This requires strong clinical expertise, communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.Roles and Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations including history taking and mental status examinations. - Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. - Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications and monitor patient response.- Provide psychotherapy, counseling, and behavioral interventions. - Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans. - Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. - Manage psychiatric emergencies including suicidaleation, aggression, and acute psychosis. - Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.- Provide family counseling and support when required. - Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation. - Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory standards. - Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options. - Conduct OPD consultations and inpatient psychiatric care when required. - Participate in community outreach programs, awareness campaigns, and mental health initiatives. - Handle medico‑legal cases and ensure proper documentation.- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety protocols. - Stay updated with advancements in psychiatry and mental health treatments. - Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. - Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.- Work efficiently in a fast‑paced and sensitive healthcare environment. - Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient rights at all times. - Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies. - Contribute to improving mental health services and patient outcomes. #J-18808-Ljbffr
