Cardio Thoracic Surgeon, Vellore

The Cardio Thoracic Surgeon will diagnose and surgically treat conditions related to the heart, lungs, esophagus, and chest cavity. This requires advanced surgical expertise, precision, and the ability to manage high-risk and emergency cases effectively. Roles and Responsibilities: - Perform complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries including bypass surgery, valve repair/replacement, and lung procedures.- Diagnose and treat conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart valve disorders, lung diseases, and chest trauma. - Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop surgical plans. - Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery. - Handle emergency surgeries and life‑threatening conditions efficiently.- Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, and critical care teams. - Interpret diagnostic tests such as ECG, echocardiography, CT scans, and angiography. - Ensure adherence to surgical protocols, SOPs, and patient safety standards. - Maintain accurate surgical records and documentation.- Manage complications and ensure timely intervention when required. - Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning. - Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols. - Train and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and OT staff. - Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education (CME).- Stay updated with advancements in cardiac and thoracic surgery techniques. - Handle medico-legal cases and ensure proper documentation. - Participate in emergency and on‑call duties. - Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical medical practices. - Provide counseling to patients and families regarding surgical procedures and risks.- Work efficiently in high‑pressure and critical care environments. - Ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of surgical equipment. - Contribute to improving surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction. - Support development and expansion of cardiothoracic services. - Demonstrate leadership, precision, and strong decision‑making skills.- Uphold professionalism and commitment to excellence in patient care. #J-18808-Ljbffr
