Civil engineers plan, design, and oversee the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects—such as roads, bridges, and water systems—ensuring they are secure, compliant with regulations, on time, and within budget. Key duties include conducting site investigations, creating blueprints, managing materials, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring health and safety protocols are met.

Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create blueprints and structural designs. Site Supervision and Management: Oversee construction sites to ensure adherence to design specifications, blueprints, and safety standards (PPE usage, scaffolding, etc.). Manage project progress to keep construction on schedule. Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare budget estimates, bid proposals, and cost analyses for materials and labor. Quality Control: Inspect construction sites and materials to ensure they meet quality, safety, and durability standards. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and environmental laws. Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with architects, subcontractors, clients, and government officials to resolve design and construction problems. Site Surveys: Oversee land surveying to determine site layout, grades, and elevations. Resource Management: Monitor the usage and procurement of raw materials, such as concrete and steel.
