Associate Civil/Structural Designer (Chennai)

Description

The Associate Civil/Structural Designer is an entry-level position, and their work is completed with close supervision and support. They work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines. The Associate Civil/Structural Designer should have basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process and appropriate licenses/training certifications. Responsibilities

- Assist in the preparation of detail drawings and deliverables of high technical quality and consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction
- Gain experience in the following work areas:
- Design
- 2D drafting
- 3D drafting and/or model creation
- Develop basic technical skills to complete assigned work
- Become fully familiar with the Project Scope of Work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address them
- Prepare Civil and Structural layouts from data generated by others, in close liaison with Civil and Structural Engineers and counterparts from other disciplines
- Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with McDermott requirements, Client and Statutory Design Codes, Standards, or Procedures with a particular focus on Health and Safety Policies
- Develop 3D Models

Functional: Supervising Department Manager Liaise With: Designers & Senior Designers Qualifications

- High School graduate with a diploma in Civil or Structural disciplines or equivalent experience
- Entry level to less than 3 years drafting and/or design
- Knowledge of 2D (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) drafting systems and other drafting software
- Basis of E3D and/or S3D
- Familiarity with 3D design systems E3D or S3D would be an advantage
- Proactive and willing to learn
