Production Manager Injection Molding & Engineering Plastics Processing Experience: 12 to 18 Years Location: [Oragadam] Department: Production / Manufacturing Reporting To: Plant Head / Operations Head Job Purpose To lead and manage end-to-end production operations for Injection Molding and Engineering Plastic Processing, ensuring achievement of production targets, process stability, quality compliance, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and manpower utilization. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Execution
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per customer schedules and PPC requirements
- Ensure optimum machine utilization and achievement of production targets
- Monitor productivity, cycle time, output efficiency, and resource utilization
- Drive adherence to production schedules with minimum downtime and losses Injection Molding Operations
- Manage Injection Molding machines and engineering plastic processing operations
- Ensure process parameter control and molding stability for engineering plastic components
- Handle mold changeovers, startup approvals, process troubleshooting, and machine settings
- Work on cycle time reduction and process optimization initiatives
- Monitor rejection trends and implement corrective actions Engineering Plastics Processing
- Strong exposure to processing of engineering polymers such as Nylon, PBT, ABS, PC, PA6, PA66, PPS, POM, and reinforced materials
- Ensure proper drying, material handling, and process discipline for critical engineering plastics
- Knowledge of material behavior, shrinkage control, warpage issues, and molding defects Quality & Process Compliance
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, Work Instructions, Control Plans, and customer quality requirements
- Coordinate with Quality team for rejection analysis and corrective actions
- Drive reduction in rejection, rework, customer complaints, and process variation
- Support audits and customer compliance requirements Manpower & Shift Management
- Lead and manage shopfloor manpower across shifts
- Ensure discipline, skill development, training, and performance management
- Optimize manpower deployment and productivity improvement initiatives
- Develop team leaders and supervisors for operational excellence Maintenance & Cross Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance team for preventive maintenance and breakdown reduction
- Work closely with Tool Room, Quality, PPC, SCM, and Projects teams
- Support new product trials, APQP activities, and production readiness Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, OEE improvement, and waste reduction initiatives
- Monitor KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, rejection, downtime, and cost savings
- Implement process improvements for enhanced operational performance HSE & Safety
- Ensure protected working practices across molding and processing areas
- Enforce PPE usage and machine safety compliance
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with organizational HSE standards Desired Candidate Profile Education
- BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Plastics, Mechanical, Production Engineering, Polymer Technology, or related discipline Experience
- 12 to 18 years of experience in Injection Molding and Engineering Plastics Processing
- Strong experience in automotive / electrical / industrial / consumer durable plastic components manufacturing
- Exposure to high tonnage injection molding machines and automated production systems preferred
- Experience in handling engineering polymers and precision plastic components is mandatory Technical Skills
