Role Description
Applix is seeking a full-time PLC / Industrial Automation Software Engineer for an on-site role based in Chennai . The role involves developing, testing, and validating PLC software for industrial automation systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include understanding customer system designs and requirements, programming PLC logic, validating code on SIL / HIL platforms, setting up Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, and supporting global engineering teams.
The engineer will work closely with a larger PLC team and will be expected to contribute hands-on across programming, debugging, validation, and commissioning support for industrial automation systems.
Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or CodeBlocks Experience with Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, ABB, or similar PLC hardware and software platforms Positive understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, or Ethernet/IP Experience validating PLC software on SIL or HIL platforms Ability to understand customer system design, requirements, and translate them into reliable automation software Experience setting up Hardware-in-the-Loop systems with PLCs is a plus Hands-on experience commissioning industrial automation systems is a plus Familiarity with Git or other software version control tools is a plus Robust problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work with minimal supervision Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with global teams Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 2–5 years of experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, controls software, or related engineering roles Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.in/job/4mfb0x
