Maintenance Head (Chennai)

Job Title: Maintenance Head Reporting To: General Manager Experience Required: 10+ Years in Plant Maintenance / Industrial Maintenance Industry Preferred: Manufacturing / Metallurgical / Engineering / Industrial Production Location : Gummudipoondi ,Chennai ,Tamilnadu. Job Summary Shri Sabhari Metallurgical India Ltd is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Maintenance Head to lead the complete maintenance function of the plant. The role is responsible for ensuring machinery reliability, preventive maintenance discipline, breakdown control, utility management, safety compliance, and maintenance team effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Operations
- Lead complete plant maintenance activities covering electrical, mechanical, utility, fitting, welding, genset, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure smooth execution of preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Monitor machine availability and reduce production downtime.
- Coordinate with Production and other departments for maintenance planning and execution. Preventive Maintenance
- Plan and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure PM activities are completed, recorded, and reviewed properly.
- Identify recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions. Breakdown Management
- Handle major breakdowns and ensure quick resolution.
- Analyze root causes for repeated failures and improve machine reliability.
- Maintain proper breakdown tracking and closure systems. Utility & Equipment Management
- Monitor utilities including power, diesel, water, genset, and electrical systems.
- Ensure proper upkeep of machinery, motors, panels, and plant equipment.
- Monitor energy usage and utility performance. Spares & Tool Control
- Ensure availability of critical spares and maintenance consumables.
- Monitor spare usage, inward materials, and maintenance inventory control.
- Maintain proper control over electrical, welding, and mechanical tools. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain PM logs, machine history cards, breakdown registers, genset logbooks, and maintenance records.
- Prepare maintenance MIS reports and review pending activities.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and visibility for management review. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure PPE usage and safe work practices during maintenance activities.
- Follow electrical safety, welding safety, height-work safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Participate in safety audits and compliance reviews. Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field Pay: ₹30,000.00
