The goal of Track Alert API is to reduce unnecessary burden on our system, while giving our customers' ability to receive status updates on the small packages quickly and accurately. Track Alert API benefits are to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, data-driven decision making, optimizing cash flow through near real-time delivery tracking, and mitigating fraud and theft through near real-time package status monitoring.About The Role The Intermediate Applications Developer participates in full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of applications software, etc.) for business critical UPS.com Track Visibility applications. Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. He/She collaborates with teams and supports emerging technologies and must have strong verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable web applications while adhering to the SAFe Agile methodology using Azure DevOps.Key Responsibilities Agile Engineering Best Practices Identifies and recommends improvements to the software development lifecycle and best practices in agile engineering. Provides input into various software development strategies (e.g., unit testing, acceptance testing, continuous delivery and integration, release and deployment for frequent and reliable release), providing the case for using agile vs. traditional methodologies.Develops the roadmap and guidelines for tailoring agile practices to a complex and dynamic software development project. Project Management Prioritizes multiple project plans, making final decisions about priorities, timing and resources. Keeps abreast of the progress of multiple projects within a program or across the department; coaches project managers to adjust priorities or timelines as needed.Monitors resource usage across projects or programs, identifying areas or synergy or redundancy and looking for ways to optimize efficiency. Troubleshooting Provides guidance and expertise to analyze data and patterns and assess the root cause of complex, non-routine problems. Collaborates with others across disciplines to brainstorm and execute solutions to the most complex, uncommon problems.Guides the execution of solutions for complex, non-routine issues; redirects solution implementation if desired results were not originally met. Application Development/Programming Identifies areas for improvement and develops innovative enhancements using available software development tools following design requirements of customer.System and Technology Integration Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends integration of the appropriate systems, applications and technology to provide a fully functional solution to a business problem. Technology Advising/Consulting Exceeds customers' expectations by listening for unexpressed needs; connects customer needs to relevant service offerings and new technology.Leads others in resolving technical issues in a timely manner; follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction. Partners with the business to integrate new technologies into business solutions; creates and communicates a vision of the technology requirements for the future state of the business.Required Skills Experience developing and testing microservices and responsive web applications Proficiency in REST services (APIs), micro services design pattern in mind (Spring Boot/.NET Core/Java). Experience in Integration services to consume/process data from other systems Experience with GCP(Google Cloud Platform) is preferredExperience working with CI/CD pipelines Experience working with ADO pipelines and DevOps duties Excellent communication and organizational skills Experience with agile software development methodologies is preferred Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Computer Science is preferredExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical discussions. Nice To Have Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of Code Quality Inspection Tools, Dependency Management Systems and Software Vulnerability Detection and Remediation Soft SkillsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
