Design Engineer (Chennai Metropolitan Area)

Objective : Design Engineer, shall be capable of reviewing & executing Engineering Activities for complete design of Transmission Lines Towers, Civil Foundations & Associated Structures. Design Engineer shall work with a team of Draughts persons, PEMs to carry out activities as per the Engineering Plan aligned with the project and deliver on schedule and budget Key Responsibilities
- Shall be responsible for collecting all inputs to carryout the design activities that are under his area of work.
- Must be capable of readingthe technical specification and able to identifythe different clauses related to Tower Design and Foundation Design.
- Review and ensureoptimum design before submission to client.
- Ensure quantity control &optimization; of civil & structural quantities
- Interact with project execution team / vendors forresolvingthe problem.
- Witness Tower Testing at Different test Beds
- Prepare BOQ and design documents which are required at pre -Tender stage.
- Post award ofJob Submission and get approval for all design related documents from Client.
- Maintain all the Engineering Documents as per ISO norms set by the management. Technical Expertise
- Technical ExpertiseinactivitiesofRoute Selection, Profiles, Sag, Tension Charts, design of Transmission Line towers, foundations (isolated, pile and combined raft) ,gantry structures.
- Design Engineer shall be able to review, design thedetaileddrawingsfor TL towers.
- Shallbe able to design all types offoundations (pad & Chimney/ Isolated Foundation, Combined Foundation, pile foundations etc).
- Shouldbe aware of design calculations as per codes ofdomestic& international codes.
- Shouldhaveknowledgeonselectingthe Test Load cases for Towers.
- Ableto prepare StringingChartfor site.
- Conversant with Indian Standards and international standards like BS, UBC, ACI, ASCE related forTL and Foundation design.
- Shall be able to conduct review of vendor drawings for bought out items Software Skills Required
- Proficiencywithstructural software like PLS Tower,STAADPro , PLS Pole
- Excellent in MS office and working knowledge of Auto CAD Effective ComputerSkills, MS Office, Discipline Specific Software’s & Applications. Behavioural Attributes
