Design Engineer - Electrical Wiring Harness (HV) (Chennai)

Position Overview: Location: Chennai (REHQ / Vallam) Position Title: EV – Electrical Wiring Harness Design (HV) Reports to: Lead Notice Period: (30 Days*) Function: EV Technical What we need: Exp: Minimum 3-6 Years of experience in High Voltage Electrical Wiring Harness Design for Automotive applications. Qualification: BTech / BE / Mechanical/ EEE/ECE/Production/Automobile engineering Industry Preference : Tier 1 and OEM with High Voltage design Exposure. Tool: Creo Notice Period: Min 30 Days (Mandatory) Technical Skills Required: Expertise in Electrical wiring design & complete product development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Electrical system architecture design.
- Expertise in Functional schematic Design, Wiring & Harness Design, Library symbol & part creation as well as Component Library Management.
- Proficiency in Creo is mandatory
- Expertise in wiring & harness component selections; creation of engineering & manufacturing BOM.
- Expertise in PLM tools like windchill or equivalent
- Candidates should have hands-on experience on EMI/EMC standards as applicable to electrical wiring design.
- Candidates should have robust knowledge on Electrical circuits Theory, Electrical Power systems, Electrical technology and Electronics Analog/Digital Circuits.
- Experience in Mentor Graphics Capital (logic and Harness XC). Knowledge of Creo is an added advantage. What you’ll do:
- Design and development of wire harness and components from Concept design to SOP.
- Library creation for E&E; system components based on software requirements.
- Wires, connectors, terminal, seals, clips, protecting cover, insulations, tapes selection.
- Converting Architecture to wire harness schematics and diagrams.
- 3D routing, Branching, Splice balancing, bending radius calculations.
- Technical specification documents creation for E&E; components.
- 2D manufacturing layout drawing release for wire harness and component datasheet release for development activities.
- Connectors, terminals, back shell, P-Clamps etc. modelling and release.
- Bill Of Material Prepare & Update In PLM.
- Component packaging, mounting strategies, and E&E; component DMU preparation and review with CFT.
- Review and approve System engineering releases and Design guidelines for vehicle-built manufacturing.
- Coordinating the Prototype builds & Functional Tests. Involved in vehicle durability test.
- Responsible for DFMEA & DVP for electrical-related components based on build/Field issues, etc.
- Responsible for answering the issues & necessary queries of customers & suppliers.
