We create board games that combine strategy, storytelling, learning, and fun for players across age groups. We are looking for a creative and analytical Board Game Designer to conceptualize, prototype, and develop original tabletop gaming experiences. Role Overview As a Board Game Designer, you will be responsible for designing compelling gameplay mechanics, balancing game systems, creating prototypes, and collaborating with illustrators, product teams, and playtesters to bring new board games to life. You should have an understanding of player psychology, strategy design, and game balancing, along with a passion for tabletop gaming. Key Responsibilities
- Design original board game concepts, mechanics, themes, and rule systems
- Develop gameplay loops that are engaging, balanced, and easy to learn
- Create game prototypes using physical and digital tools
- Conduct and analyze playtesting sessions to improve gameplay experience
- Write explicit and concise game rules, instructions, and design documentation
- Research market trends, player preferences, and competitor products in the tabletop gaming industry
- Balance game economies, difficulty progression, and replayability
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for new product ideas and expansions Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Product Design, Creative Writing, Psychology, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, player engagement, and balancing systems
- Experience designing strategy, card, party, educational, or family games
- Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills
