Description
A Construction Planning Manager develops, maintains, and monitors detailed project schedules (using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project), ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. They coordinate with site teams, manage resources, identify risks, and produce progress reports to mitigate delays. This role requires robust technical knowledge of construction methods and contractual obligations. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] We are looking for a Planning Manager with 3–5 years of experience in the construction industry to manage project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with client and organizational requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Development & Control: Create detailed project schedules (baseline programs) and track progress, highlighting anticipated delays.
- Methodology & Planning: Determine optimum construction methods, prepare method statements, and develop time-cycle charts.
- Resource & Cost Management: Collaborate with estimators to align resource allocation (manpower, materials, equipment) with project schedules.
- Progress Reporting: Conduct regular progress review meetings and generate weekly/monthly reports for stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential bottlenecks and develop contingency plans.
- Coordination: Liaise between project managers, surveyors, engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Develop detailed project schedules (baseline & revised) using Primavera P6 / MS Project
- Prepare Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and define project milestones
- Plan manpower, materials, and equipment requirements in coordination with site teams
- Monitor daily site progress against planned schedules and identify deviations
- Prepare and present MIS reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to management
- Conduct delay analysis and prepare recovery/mitigation plans
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and contractors
- Track material delivery schedules and align with project timelines
- Support tender planning, costing inputs, and timeline estimation
- Ensure adherence to project deadlines, quality standards, and contractual obligations
- Participate in project review meetings and provide actionable insights Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of construction project planning & execution
- Hands-on experience in Primavera P6 / MS Project / Advanced Excel
- Understanding of construction sequencing (civil, structural, mechanical works)
- Good analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Pay: ₹40,000.00
