Dim sum Chef (Middleton Row)

Position: Dim Sum Chef Department: Kitchen Operations Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Dim Sum Chef to prepare and execute a wide variety of authentic dim sum dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of traditional dim sum techniques, dough preparation, fillings, steaming, and kitchen organization in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce a variety of dim sum items including dumplings, momos and steamed specialties.
- Handle dough making, fillings, folding, shaping, and steaming techniques with precision.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all dishes.
- Maintain mise en place and production schedules for daily service.
- Monitor ingredient quality and freshness.
- Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Assist in menu development and creation of seasonal or specialty dim sum items.
- Minimize wastage and maintain proper stock rotation. Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dim Sum Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or specialized dim sum kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese dim sum preparation techniques.
- Skilled in dough preparation, dumpling folding, and steaming methods.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen workplace.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills. Preferred Skills
