Responsibilities: Classification: Confidential . Conduct endtoend design and development of assigned Powertrain Systems components such as piston, piston rings, bearings, valves, cylinder liners, heat shields and sealings . Own requirements management and DVP&R; for assigned systems, ensuring traceability from customer SOR/VOI to validation and signoff. . Should have knowledge of concept generation and tradeoff analysis, evaluating performance, cost, manufacturability, packaging, and regulatory constraints. . Lead detailed design and tolerance analysis, including GD&T;, stackups, and design feasibility for hightemperature and vibration environments. . Lead and review DFMEA and formal design reviews, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and documented. . Manage design changes (ECR/ECM), ensuring controlled implementation, impact assessment, and alignment with project milestones.. Experience with Design for Cost, including RFQ support, cost breakdown discussions, and value engineering with suppliers and internal stakeholders. . Establish and maintain Voice-of-Customer feedback loops, using field data, warranty, and customer feedback to drive design improvements and lessons learned.. Oversee BOM release to PLM/ERP, ensuring data accuracy, configuration control, and alignment with manufacturing and supply chain needs. . Collaborate with cross functional team(CAE/CFD/quality/testing) to review thermal, flow, durability, and NVH analysis results drive corrective actions and design optimization.. Working knowledge of emission norms and regulations . Lead technical reviews with suppliers, evaluate feasibility and manufacturability, and drive quality, timing, and cost targets. . Support prototype builds, testing, and issue resolution lead RCA/8D activities for issues such as wear, cracks and leakage problems..
